Christ told His disciples during the last supper not to be troubled. "In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you." He isn't talking about mansions as we understand that to mean today. He's talking about a room or a dwelling place, or anywhere that God's presence can be felt.
"I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself." Where did Christ go? He went to the cross at Calvary.
To prepare a place for us. Where?
Right here! in our present circumstance. In the body of Christ. Today. Later, when we die, which we will - the place will be Heaven. And eventually, in the new creation - the New Heaven and New Earth.
So if we believe this, as we should, then why would we ever let our hearts be troubled? Do we not believe God? Do we not take Him at His word? Maybe we believe some things in the Bible, but not others. We either believe or we do not believe. No middle ground.
Learn to focus on what matters. Keep the main thing the main thing. A troubled, doubtful Christian is a poor testimony.
Change your perspective. Start seeing burdens as blessings.
Instead of "I have to wake up at 0500 and work out", think "I get to wake up and move and experience all God has given me this day." Be thankful.
If you have food on your table and a roof over your head, clothes in your closet, love in your life and an opportunity and the ability to serve others, maybe you already have all that you need to be happy.
Live Simply. Let Not Your Heart Be Troubled!
