"And thou, too, whosoever thou art, that readest this brief psalm, as one by one thy hopes depart, be resolute and calm.
O fear not in a world like this, and thou shalt know ere long, know how sublime a thing it is to suffer and be strong." (HW Longfellow, The Light of Stars)

"We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed." 2 Corinthians 4:8-9
Sublime: to inspire admiration or awe; noble, lofty, exalted
There isn't much we can do to inspire awe in others. We're very rarely noble. And, unfortunately, we have a tendency to exalt people who are underserving of exaltation. But we can inspire others through our testimony. By our willingness to put our trust in Christ.
We can be singular in purpose: focused, unwavering, distracted by nothing. Preaching the gospel both in season and out of season. By building others up and not tearing down. By putting the needs of others ahead of our own. By not complaining. By standing for the Truth, especially when it's unpopular. By maintaining our integrity, regardless of the cost.

"Lives of great men all remind us, we can make our lives sublime, and, departing, leave behind us, footprints on the sands of time; footprints, that perhaps another, sailing o'er life's solen main, a forlorn and shipwrecked brother, seeing, shall take heart again."
(H.W. Longfellow, A Psalm of Life)

"Watch ye, stand fast in the faith; quit you like men; be strong."
1 Corinthians 16:13
"Young man, make up your mind on one thing - and stay with it!"
(Dr. R.A. Torrey to Vance Havner)
"Leave a place in your calculations for a miracle, because we're needing today not so much a budget, as we need more boys who are willing to say 'Lord, I don't have much, but you're welcome to it'." (Vance Havner, Feeding the Lost Multitude)
